Aysha + Stu’s Engagement

Flirtatious glances and romantic gestures brought Queensland couple Aysha and Stu together.

They met at university, catching each other’s eyes across the classroom. Fate determined that they were later introduced through a mutual friend.

Romance blossomed right from the beginning with cosy dinners, and Stu bringing Aysha wild hand-picked flowers, writing love notes and poems.

Stu proposed to Aysha while they were still living in Queensland, before moving to Melbourne last year.  He wined and dined Aysha at one of their favourite restaurants in Kings Beach, then asked The Question next to the beach, underneath a tree ablaze with fairy lights.

Aysha and Stu are a fun and creative couple so we thought it might be nice to celebrate their engagement with using bright colours and vibrant scenes for the shoot.

We decided to take two different shoots and I think they both really reflect who Aysha and Stu are when they are together.

The first was a fun, silly and quirky shoot at the Telstra Exchange Building on Inkerman St, St Kilda. Recently a colourful TV test pattern has been painted all over the brick walls.

The second shoot was more relaxed and we used a local alley and a beautiful park near where the couple live. Aysha and Stu were so natural and had lots of fun with the camera.

Congratulations on your engagement, thanks for allowing me to document your love that shines through every image!

Aysha’s button necklace is from a shop called Thousand Island Dressing in Brisbane which stocks hand made jewellery by local artists and is known for selling an awesome ecclectic range of lampshades.  Aysha’s pink necklace with the floral embellishment is also handmade – bought from a store at Kings Beach in QLD.
