Jodie and Shannon – Gum Gully Farm Silvan (melbourne wedding photographer)

Jodie and Shannon made their commitment to one another at Gum Gully Farm, nestled in the green rolling hills of Melbourne’s Dandenong Ranges. It was a quaint setting full of wonderful rustic charm, where the couple’s closest family and friends gathered to celebrate an intimate wedding.

Jodie and Shannon met through work more than 10 years ago, and built a strong and powerful relationship.

Shannon surprised Jodie while they were on holiday visiting his family in the United States and they were engaged at the Hotel Roosevelt in Hollywood in 2008.

Jodie and Shannon opted for a delightful mix of the traditional and the contemporary for their country wedding. They wanted to support each other through the ceremony without bridesmaids or groomsmen, and I think it worked beautifully!

A bouquet of lilac, pale pink, cream and soft greens complimented Jodie’s strapless white Maggie Set gown.

Shannon, standing tall and handsome in his beautifully cut Hugo Boss suit, took Jodie’s hand and the two guided each other down the aisle.

Comforting pastel colours and soft fairy lights set the scene as the couple’s guests enjoyed a night of laughter, dancing and happiness.

Ruth Trevaskis - What a gorgeous set of images. Just lovely.

I love the attention to details, and the way you have captured moments and emotions.

Rosy + Damian (Engagement Photography Melbourne)

Recently I photographed some engagement portraits for Rosy and Damian around Melbourne city area. They are the most lovely couple! Their love story goes a little like this…

Rosy and Damian’s romance started from across the room.

It was a crowded bar and a weekly chance to get a sneak peek at each other, until finally they exchanged words instead of glances and never looked back.

Damian was one of the good ones and Rosy embraced every moment they had together – and even those they didn’t.

Only a few weeks into their courtship Rosy received a love letter sent from Damian, who was overseas with his friends but still had her on his mind.

It was the letter sent from afar, but explained how much Damian had missed her while he was away, and made Rosy realise they were meant to be.

Rosy and Damian are a very special couple because of how much they both respect and adore one another.

While total opposites in personality, Rosy and Damian accept each little thing about the other, and do whatever it takes to make each other happy.

Damian popped the question just as Rosy was about to cross the threshold of their new home.

He had carefully put together a picnic with all their favourite foods, and carefully set out it on their back deck in the sunshine.

Rosy said it was in that moment they shared together in their new garden that she felt the happiest.

I am really looking forward to photographing their wedding next March! Stay turned for what I am sure is going to be a romantic day…

Nicole + Alex’s Sydney Engagement Photographer

I recently went to Sydney to photograph Alex and Nicole’s engagement portraits at the beautiful Sydney University. Their love story is one I must share with you all!

He couldn’t get her out of his mind. Her golden hair and blue eyes stayed with him even though he was too shy to ask her out that night.

It was during an evening out with the boys, celebrating after the last ice hockey training session for the season, that Alex turned to see a beautiful girl walk through the door of the bar.

That was the first night Alex and Nicole met and it was the start of a long and happy relationship.

Three years after they met Alex was certain Nicole was the one, and he made her a promise that he would finish his degree to secure their future together.

More than seven years since they first saw each other Alex received his final year results. On the very day of his graduation he decided to propose to his Nicole.

He booked a hotel room at the Intercontinental Hotel, which was Alex’s intended spot to ask The Question but because they were running late for the ball the proposal would have to wait.

With the beautiful engagement ring tucked safely in his sock, and after several failed attempts during throughout the graduation evening at Toronga Zoo, Alex decided to take Nicole down into the gardens that over looked the harbour.

Beneath the Sydney night sky he knelt down carefully on one knee and explained to Nicole that now he had graduated and their lives were going perfectly there was only one thing missing.

He told Nicole she was a caring, loving person, who was smart, funny, beautiful and with a heart for family.

He told her he had never met anyone like her and without another second to loose asked her to marry him!

We captured this engagement photo shoot at locations around Sydney University where Alex spent all those years studying. Their dog Mishka also joined us – what a little cutie!!!I cannot wait to be a part of Alex and Nicole’s Sydney Wedding next year!
